News Report: Your goal for this assignment is to select a topic that is something you are interested in. This topic must be approved by me. Your topic also needs to be something that is currently misrepresented in the media (or something that has been misrepresented in recent years). Example topics (but there are plenty more!) “Clean” eating, Health, “Detoxing” methods for health, 5G technology “health problems”, Exercise, Educational aspects Your paper will be a information news report about your topic. You are not agreeing or disagreeing with anything: you are simply reporting on a topic that has either been reported as disinformation, misinformation, or malformation. Your audience for this paper are college students who have a limited knowledge on the topic, so you should keep them in mind when you present your report.
The report must use at least 2 credible outside sources (Delgado Databases–you will learn how to use the Delgado Academic Database)Links to an external site. and the sources must be documented in MLA format and style (quotes and paraphrases–we will learn this!) Like the other essays, I must approve your topic. Minimum grading standards: Paper’s length must be at least 1000 words minimum (going over is fine). Word count does not include the works cited page Your paper must contain two outside sources, but not more than four, from at least one of the Library Databases Integrate quotations into the paper from those outside sources: your paper must have at least 2 but not more than 4 quotes AND your paper must have at least 1 but not more than 3 paraphrases Your paper must contain a works cited page Paper’s thesis must be explicit.
