Assignment Task
This assignment requires you to write a 2,500-word report, based on analysis of a fictional business (Omega Electronics Ltd) provided by your instructor. The case study of Omega Electronics Ltd will include key financial documents such as the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
Your task is to write a two-part report that assesses the business’s financial health, identifies areas where it is performing well, suggest areas for improvement, and provide strategic recommendations based on the financial data. Any additional calculations should be included within an appendix. Any Calculations or Financial Tables used within the report are not included within the final word count.
Assignment Structure
Part 1: Analysis of Omega Electronics Ltd (Mark 80%) – 2000 Words
Task:
- Carefully review the financial information provided in the case study, which includes the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.

- Analyse the business’s performance by evaluating the main financial statements.

- Assess whether the business is performing well overall based on the information provided.
- Identify strengths in the business’s financial performance and highlight weaknesses or areas of concern.
- Provide recommendations for improvement, focusing on what the business can do better. This may involve suggestions for better financial management, operational improvements, or strategic initiatives like expansion or preparing to go public.
Part 2: Strategic Recommendations (Mark 20%) – 500 Words
Task:
- Based on your analysis in Part 1, develop strategic recommendations for the business.
- Consider the business’s potential actions, such as expansion, going public, or restructuring.
- Present your recommendations in a concise report, ensuring that your suggestions are practical, actionable, and well-supported by the financial analysis.
