Task brief:

You are required to write a 1000-word case study to describe a demanding adaptive challenge facing your region, nation or community as a result of globalization. Appropriate adaptive challenge approaches need to be suggested to deal with this challenge.

Important points:

• This is an individual case study which will be completed partly in class and partly after class.
• A demanding adaptive challenge facing your region, nation or community resulting from globalization must be clearly described. You must engage with how the processes and the dynamics of globalization have driven changes and created hurdles that society must solve.
• You need to explain how the adaptive challenge approach is used to address the challenge. It is important for you to discuss the need for crossing boundaries and collaboration between different spheres of society to address it.
• You should explain the role of technology (e.g., communications, engineering, medical, other technologies) in solving the problem.
• At least FOUR relevant, reliable and recent sources (e.g., journal articles, newspaper articles, academic books, etc.) need to be used to support your argument.
• Length of research report = 1000 words (+/-10%)
• You can use the following questions to guide your case study:

1. How did the challenge emerge?
2. How is this challenge a result of globalization? What has been done to solve the problem?
3. Why is the adaptive challenge approach useful to solve the problem?
