Assignment Objective: This assignment measures your mastery of ULOs 1.3, 1.4, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, and 4.1. You are presenting a report to a fire chief about the community risk reduction (CRR) program you began in the Unit III Assignment. You will expand on your existing CRR using the information gathered from the previous assignment; however, you may not incorporate any content directly from the previous assignment into the current one.

In your memo to the fire chief, include the following:

Express the importance of risk reduction programs.
Convey the importance of properly leading community risk reduction (CRR) to protect communities.
Discuss evaluation instruments and budgeting for them.
Determine marketing strategies for a CRR.


Note: When corresponding with the fire chief, it is beneficial to use the bottom line up front (BLUF) method. Memos are often viewed as competition for resources with other ideas and needs, so it is important to allow the fire chief to quickly understand the basis of your recommendation and what the ask is. Lead with the recommendation at the top of the memo, which is the BLUF method.
