Task
One student should complete the Student A component, and the other the Student B component, both of which are to be presented together within your final product.
There are two key approaches to ensuring that each student can be marked individually:
Clinical Scenario 1: Education on prevention of ischaemic stroke
You are asked to design a Patient Information Tool to explain how the blood supply to the brain works, ischaemic stroke, and prevention of ischaemic stroke. Integration of the blood vessels with the heart and respiratory system is also required. You should presume that the audience reading your Patient Information Tool has not undertaken prior studies in health.
To address this, the specific information to be provided in the Patient Information Tool is detailed below, with two main components, for Student A and Student B.’
Student B:
Criteria 1 – Describe how the circulation (blood vessels) and the heart have integrated functions in providing gas exchange for the brain. Focus on the normal anatomy and physiology.
Criteria 2 – Describe how atherosclerosis develops. Explore the factors that can reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and ischaemic stroke.
Criteria 3, 4 and 5 will be assessed as per the rubric
