Write an entry of at least 250 words for the 4 journals. Focus on concisely summarizing key terms, traditions, practices, and beliefs of each religion. In addition to these summaries, please provide a clear but personal reflection about what you found insightful, surprising, confusing, or that leaves you with questions about the religions covered. This last part of your journal entry is meant to provide me a greater sense of what you have really taken away or been intrigued by from the readings.
It is vital that you write in your own words as you explain what you have learned about each religion. Focus on items like the founder, symbols, key ideas, practices, celebrations, or major traditions that help give meaning and structure to the faith that makes it an organized set of beliefs and behaviors. That is what tells me you can see it as a religion. Does it have structure and meaning to all that is said and done as a person of that faith? Which ones are appealing and why? AVOID comparing to your own faith. Examine each religion on its own terms and just the interest that arises in you from the study and reflection on it.
