Her supervisor, Principal Michaels, has asked the school EAP counselor to
intervene with concerns regarding potential substance use in an effort to facilitate getting her help and be able to retain her.
She is divorced, has a 4-year-old son who lives with his father.
Appetite is healthy, sleeping 9 hours/24 hrs., wakes 2-3 times during the night. Denied drug use.
had a DUI when she was 21.

She is Frequently late for classes, 22 days so far this year. She says her personal life is fine, and personal,
She stated the History department had a party last night at a friends house named Darrel, and she wants to know why isn’t Darrel being questioned like her.
She says alcohol was served and she had a bit much to drink, but says she’s an adult.. She said she dranked at the party but was not drunk.
Was asked if she intoxicated to have had passed out. She stated she woke up from an alarm going off. She said her friend left her on the couch and she was late for work. She has a history of passing out at parties. Stating we all have passed out at parties.
She has had complaints of being at work intoxicated. Complaints from parents and students. She became very aggressive when confronted about complaints, stating: “Let them come and tell me that to my face because it’s totally not true.”
She has had complaints that: They’ve complained that at different times you came into class and then you ordered the kids to read from their textbook or you ordered the kids to copy notes from the board while you were sleeping with your head on the desk.
She wanted to know who complained, even accused a student of being a problem for other teachers.
She admits to drinking last night. She stated she had too much to drink when asked.
She broke up with her boyfriend, Ryan. She don’t want to talk about it.
She became uncooperative and almost walked out of the meeting.
She don’t know how often she drinks but she does.
She stated she drinks every night during the week. She drinks alone. Occasionally she will go to a bar and drink with friends.
She states, she has a few glasses of wine at home while grading papers.
She became aggressive again talking about her students getting worse, becoming more vicious. She stated she caught a student filming her in class. She became angry when the principle did nothing and she felt humiliated.
She became loud and stated it’s humiliating to work for a school that has no back bone.
She’s stressed about paying her bills, paying her student loans, driving a “shitty” car.
She lost the love to teach because she feels she’s not being supported at work and that contributes to her drinking.
When asked how much does she drinks, she said “enough” enough to pass out.
She says it takes about 5 – 6 glasses of wine or a couple of mixed drinks for her to get intoxicated.
When asked if she drinks more than her friends, She got defensive and states that alcohol affects her differently than her friends.
When asked Is drinking wine, beer, other alcoholic drinks in the evenings. Is that something new for you? Or was that something typical than your past?
She stated, her father was an alcoholic while she was growing up. Then her father joined AA and got sober. Her mom was supportive of her dad but strict with the kids on drinking.
She stated in highscool she went out with friends and got drunk. She drank occasionally in college.
She feels her drinking has increased since college
