ASSIGNMENT #7: The Leadership Challenge Self-Assessment

The You have now been exposed to up-to-date theory and research related to "LEADERSHIP", simply defined as influencing behavior...and evidenced in the many ways leaders use and misuse  the power and control of their position. Hopefully you will subscribe to the belief that "ALL LIVES MATTER",  and be committed to developing the potential of those you have the opportunity to lead/manage!

NOTE: you need to order/purchase the Kouzes/Posner LPI (Student Leadership Practices Inventory( LPI) 2nd edition) WCU Bookstore or an online supplier. This assessment instrument (and materials) will provide you with valuable information relative to the behaviors needed to produce EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS! To complete this assignment you will need to respond to the 30 items on the LPI, then determine your scores in the 5 Leadership Practice areas.

SUBMISSION for assignment:

Provide your scores in the 5 Leadership practice areas:

COLUMNS: 1.Modeling____;2.Inspiring____;3.Challenging____;4.Enabling;______5.Encouraging____

In the LPI there are 6 behaviors in each Leadership Practice Area. Which did you score high on and which do do you need to improve?

NOTE:To tally your scores correctly, start by labeling columns, going across as MODELING;INSPIRING;CHALLANGING;ENABLING;ENCOURAGING.

To place your scores in the "CORRECT " columns start by placing Behavior #1 response in column #1-MODELING, then proceed with your scores for #s 2,3,4,5, in columns for INSPIRING, CHALLANGING,  ENABLING, ENCOURAGING.

Then start over with your score for #6 in column under MODELING and repeat this process through score #30.

Finish by adding up your score totals under each PRACTICE area.
