Provide a detailed analysis of how Africana/Black Studies offers a unique lens for properly understanding the realities of Africana men. Consider what social science data reveals about Africana men and explain how Black Studies helps accurately interpret and contextualize that information. Discuss how reliance on a culturally centered perspective allows for a clearer understanding of Africana men and their current conditions under white supremacy. Additionally, explain why Africana/Black Studies should be directly concerned with engaging and addressing the realities facing Africana men.

Select one social issue that significantly impacts Africana men. First, explain the issue in detail and provide evidence supporting why it directly affects Africana men. Second, using concepts and ideas discussed in the first set of modules, critically analyze this issue. In your analysis, connect it to broader realities facing Africana people and demonstrate how it intersects with other social, political, economic, or cultural factors. Third, propose at least three concrete solutions that can begin to address this issue. Conclude by explaining how addressing this issue would positively impact the broader Africana community.
