I. Introduction (10%)

Introduction should give a clear information of what the assignment is aiming to achieve, also provide brief information about your chosen topic.  You could add a brief scenario of a conflict situation (identify the type of conflict that occurred example interpersonal conflict) in a company of your choice (A good scenario will attract additional marks)

2. Main Body (80%)

What is conflict? Explain (Add reference)

Link information to chosen topic and provide an insight to conflict situation that could occur in an organisation of choice.

Explain the different types of conflicts.

Discuss with relevant examples the types of conflicts that could be linked to your chosen topic.  Explain the stages of conflict (Points to be considered – Trigger, Assumption and Labelling, Attack and blame, Entrenched and Collison) and what stage should this type of conflict be managed so as not to escalate.

Discuss the impact it could have on an organisation if not well managed.

Define Conflict management (Add reference)

Explain conflict Management styles (Points to be considered- Competing, Collaboration, Avoiding, Compromising, Accommodation).

Define and explain conflict resolution (Add reference).

 Explain how a manager can come to a resolution of conflict.

Define Coaching and mentoring. Explain how they differ from one another.

Identify and explain different coaching techniques. Discuss Coaching techniques and how it can benefit the organisation in order to improve performance of an individual.

Incorporate the GROW Framework Model or any of the coaching models discussed in class

Link the application of the model to your chosen topic.

3. Conclusion (10%)

Conclude with a recap of the main points covered in the essay.
