Overview When creating a brand identity package, there are some basic design decisions you will need to make. This includes choosing a color palette, determining typography specifications, creating a logo, and so on. These are the components of your brand that you will use consistently across all of your business collateral, including blog posts, business cards, presentations, promotional material, and so on. The design decisions you make when creating your brand identity package should be influenced by your design aesthetics or style. Another important component of your personal brand identity is the mission statement, which provides a snapshot of your skills and experience. Drafting a mission statement often begins with identifying the qualities or adjectives that best describe your brand. These qualities or adjectives can also help you make specific choices for the brand’s look and feel. In this activity, you will create a style tile to determine the components that you will use in your personal brand identity package. The style tile should specify design elements, such as colors and fonts, that will work together to reflect a cohesive brand style. This activity will help you complete Project Two in Module Seven. You will apply the elements you create in this activity to your portfolio website in the project. Directions Use the Style Tile template linked in the What to Submit section to create a style tile for your personal brand using Adobe Illustrator. This should include a logo concept, color selections, typography, and other style selections. Use the resources linked in the Supporting Materials section for more information. You can add or remove elements from the template based on your requirements. Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria: Identify at least three adjectives that best define your personal brand. Create a color palette with the colors you think best represent your personal brand. Choose at least four colors. Make sure the colors follow the principles related to contrasts. Identify any specific textures or patterns you plan to use for your brand. Determine the typography you will use in your personal branding package. Identify font types, sizes, and styles for each of the following: Heading Subheading Body text Determine the style of buttons you will use in your personal branding package. Create at least one concept for your logo. Determine the text you will use for your logo. For example, decide whether you use your initials, full name, or company name. Select the colors and font for your logo from the color palette and typography you identified for your personal brand. Note: You will need to provide attribution for any existing images you use in this assignment. Refer to the Openly Licensed Images area of your course for more information on how to provide attribution.
