NURS515 EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE 1 Assignment Week 15 Framing the Clinical Question, Stakeholders, and Dissemination Stakeholders

NURS515 EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE 1
Assignment
Week 15
Framing the Clinical Question, Stakeholders, and Dissemination

Stakeholders

1. Using the PICO(T) question you created in week 2 (you may revise it based on feedback from your faculty), imagine a setting where you would conduct a project to address your PICO. For example, the setting might be an outpatient oncology clinic, inpatient medicalsurgical unit, or a home health agency. Identify the stakeholders that you need to successfully complete this project. If you are not yet a nurse, you can ask your peers who are already nurses for ideas about who needs to be involved. Review the Johns Hopkins’ Stakeholder Analysis Tool to guide your decisions.
a. List and describe each stakeholder (e.g., dietician, nurse educator, social worker).
b. Justify their involvement (e.g., The dietician offers expertise in foods and drinks high in nutritional value that can be incorporated into a patient education program developed to minimize weight loss in oncology patients treated with oral chemotherapy).

Dissemination

2. Imagine that you successfully completed your EBP project and are ready to disseminate your findings. Your readings give many examples of how to disseminate results of your PICO-driven project. For this assignment, describe how you will disseminate your results through 3 presentations and 1 publication. Review the Johns Hopkins’ Dissemination Tool to help guide your decisions.
a. Identify three specific organizations (one local, one state/regional, and one national/international). For each organization, justify why each of those audiences would be interested in learning about your project’s results. Be realistic when selecting these organizations. Identify how clinicians currently share results with these audiences (e.g., specific professional organization’s conference, state-wide task force, specific council/committee at a hospital). Include more than the name of an organization – describe the mechanism or venue used by clinicians to share their results. For example, results of a project that increased the percentage of women attending the traditional 6-week postpartum visits could be disseminated at a meeting of the Illinois Chapter of the March of Dimes’ Community Programs Evaluation Committee versus listing only the name of the organization, the March of Dimes. Consult your readings for examples of small group presentations.
b. Identify one professional journal (e.g., Journal of Advanced Nursing; Journal of Family Nursing) and justify why this journal is appropriate (e.g., describe the audience). Make sure to review the Author Guidelines/Instructions to determine if the journal will accept quality improvement projects. You can find the Author Guidelines/Instructions on the journal’s website. To identify a journal that will likely be interested in your topic, look at the articles retrieved by your search! These are the journals that are publishing articles about your topic of interest AND highly consider the journal published by your professional organization.

3. At the assignment link, submit one-word file that includes the final PICO and your responses to the stakeholders and dissemination activities by the due date on your course schedule. Paper should have a 7th ed. student format APA title page and the body of the paper should be double spaced and written in clear and concise sentence structure.
