Preparing for Unit 3 Leadership Journey Assignment
Leadership Self-Assessment (Est. completion time: 15 mins)
Complete the self-assessment offered by the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL)*. This will be used in order to prepare for your Unit 3 assignment.

You can choose between the Nurse Manager or Nurse Executive survey (it is your preference)
Answer each question by clicking the radial buttons which best describe your experience with the topic presented.
The rating scale requires you to rate yourself from Novice to Expert using a Likert scale where 1 = Novice, 2 = Advanced Beginner, 3 = Competent, 4 = Proficient, and 5 = Expert.
Once you complete the questionnaire, click Submit.
Check your Galen email (or whichever email you use to register your account) for a PDF file of the results.
Review and analyze the report.
You will not submit this self-assessment in Unit 2, but you will use it for the assignment in Unit 3: Leadership Journey Assignment.

This is a widely recognized book among leaders and the language of strengths and using strengths to lead teams is often referenced in leadership workshops and conferences, as well as used among many leading healthcare organizations. This self-assessment will lend additional insight into your leadership assessment and can be woven into your assignments throughout this course. If you did not purchase the book, you can still take the assessment and get a detailed report of your strengths; however, the cost is the same as the book.
