Below you will find a choice of topics. You are required to write an essay of five or more paragraphs on one of the following topics:
1. In the song, "Empire State of Mind," Jay Z and Alicia Keys sing, "In New York/ Concrete jungle (yeah) where dreams are made of/There's nothin' you can't do." Do you agree with the lyrics? Is NYC a place where your dreams come true or is it a place where your dreams are crushed? Give three reasons for your opinion.
2. Vegans are people who only eat plant-based foods while omnivores are people who eat meat, fish, dairy and plants. What kind of eater are you and why?
3. Some people believe that you only have one soulmate in the world. Define "soulmate" and discuss if you believe that you can have more than one in a lifetime. Give three reasons for your belief.
