Scenario
For this milestone, consider the following scenario: Assume the role of a human resources director at a U.S.-based call center that is currently based in the Midwest. The organiza on plans to expand their call center loca ons in the states of South Carolina and Tennessee and the country of India and needs to hire 100 employees. Your organiza on has been primarily hiring “local” talent, many of whom have been rela ves of current employees. However, as the organiza on looks to expand, there is a need to address new issues in diversity and inclusion, assess risks that may occur because of expansion, define the organiza on’s role to communi es in new states and abroad, and consider if current members of human resources or senior leaders might need overseas assignments in order to get the India loca on staffed and opera ng. As the human resources director, you will create a strategic HR plan that addresses goals related to your organiza on’s growth. The plan should have an influence across the organiza on to be successful.
