Based on these resources, the system administrator possesses several skills, and can tackle many different projects, but is not an expert in any particular area.

• Research the various job boards and note the different roles a systems administrator attends to and write about some of the roles and responsibilities you found.
• Discuss various support services a system administrator can offer when working with organization networks.
• This could be setting up an intrusion detection system or prevention system or even a company network server or printer. Think out-of-the-box and give it your best shot.
• Advice on what steps a junior system administrator would take to be successful in the job, from the perspective of someone already in the IT field, and the steps required to be successful as a system administrator. Is time on the job needed or certifications in the field or both?
• Discuss how a system administrator must understand the risk management process and how to create a risk assessment policy, as well as how to mitigate against potential security breaches
