Assessment One
Adam has just graduated from the University of Business and has applied for a three-week internship with a business consultancy firm called London Business Advisory (whose main clients are large business sellers of products and commodities).
Adam has just found out that he has received an invitation to interview for an internship. Adam is aware that if he impresses members of the various departments at London Business Advisory, it may lead to a training contract at the firm. Adam has been told by Deb, the HR Manager at London Business Advisory, that during the internship, the successful candidate would spend time in the Client Corporate Advisory Division.As part of the interview process, Adam is given a set of questions.
Adam is asked the following:
Discuss the rules regarding the formation of a contract and indicate whether you think these rules might be more in favour of your clients (ie. large business sellers) or the buyers (ie. the general public). (in your answer, ignore reference to consumer law).
Discuss the main business structures in the UK (eg. limited liability companies, partnerships, sole traders and limited liability partnerships) when advising clients on the most appropriate business structures for them.
